What the work is
What the title named
In 2023, the wording of a request changed the quality of an answer a great deal, and nobody could say why. The title named that skill at the moment it looked rare, and it became the most visible of the new job titles.
Why it did not hold
Two causes compounded. Models stopped depending so heavily on wording. And, above all, the useful work turned out to be elsewhere: in what you put into the window rather than how you phrase it, and in measuring what comes out. Neither fits into a sentence you tune.
What to take from it
A title can die without the work disappearing, and that is the commoner case. The skill now appears in more adverts than at the height of its fashion, but as one line among others. This is the only trade in the corpus whose entry serves mainly to read the others.
